battalion280x160After a tough road trip in which the team only picked up one point, the North Bay Battalion look to bounce back with the first of four straight home games.

The Troops host the defending Memorial Cup Champion Oshawa Generals tonight (Thursday).

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler was asked if his team is showing inexperience after trading away overager Miles Liberati to the Kitchener Rangers.

He says “We seem to kind of get a little bit of momentum and then….you know, but as coaches we made the decision to get Brady time and took Miles out of our lineup. He was a key part of our lineup so I think now it’s going to take us some time to try and figure it out.”

Rookie defenceman Brady Lyle was the first round pick for the Battalion this past April.

The Troops received some good news from the league that Matt Santos will be allowed to play in Tonight’s game against the Generals.

Santos had been given a match penalty, but no further action, for a hit in the game on Sunday against the Soo Greyhounds.

The Battalion are looking to separate themselves from the Generals in the Eastern Conference as both teams enter the contest with 27 points.

Catch all the action on Country 600 CKAT, starting with the pre-game show at 6:35 pm.
