A traffic note on Algonquin Avenue near Maplewood, North Bay Police are asking motorists and pedestrians to avoid that area this morning (Monday) until the road has been cleared of hydro lines and deemed safe.

This after a plow struck a hydro pole on Algonquin around 2:30 this morning.

Police say Algonquin will be blocked from the bypass to Lansdowne Avenue until the roadway has been cleared of hydro lines and deemed safe.

North Bay Hydro, meantime, says 780 customers lost power because of the incident.

All but 100 have had the power restored.

The estimated restoration time is 2 pm.
