Last week’s rain and warm temperatures had an impact on snow depth in the area.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says snow depth is well below average for this time of year, from about 20 per cent below in North Bay to nearly 50 per cent below average in Chisholm and Corbeil.

Water content in the snow is also down.

Meantime, the North Bay Snowmobile Club says more snow is needed to get the trails open.

Officials say they took a beating from last week’s weather.
