The North Bay Battalion survived an eighth-round shootout to beat the Niagara IceDogs 4-3 yesterday afternoon (Sunday) at Memorial Gardens.

The victory was the team’s ninth in ten games.

Head Coach Stan Butler says his secondary players were the key to winning.

“We’re getting a little bit from this guy and a little bit from that guy and that’s what you need in order to be successful,” he says.

Rookie Brandon Coe (pictured) scored the shootout winner.

“We know Brandon going to be a great shootout shooter but sometimes it’s tough for 16 year olds in that role, but that was a pretty nice goal he scored,” Butler says.

Goaltender Christian Propp earned his 11th win of the season.

Andy Baker, Luke Bughardt and Brad Chenier had goals in regulation for North Bay.

The Battalion are fifth in the OHL Eastern Conference standings.
